Inkspirational Challenge - Prompt Word - Sprinkle

Hello!  It's a lovely day for a new challenge over at Inkspirational!  This challenge we have a prompt word for you.  Sprinkle!

There are a lot of ways to interpret this word.  Because of my HUGE sweet tooth I immediately thought sprinkles on cupcakes!  But then I saw that a few of my teammates had the same idea.  Great minds, people, great minds!  I thought, okay, let's see if I can come up with something else.  I admit I was stumped a little.  Then I thought well, I could actually "sprinkle" something on my card like ink or something.  So, that's what I did!  Take a look....

As it turns out a couple of my teamies had the same notion too!  Ah, we are so in tune with each other!  LOL!  Anyway, I decided to use a NBUS stamp by Stampendous.  It's a lovely stamp reminiscent of those old style seed package ads.  I stamped it in Soft Suede (SU!) then coloured it in lightly with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I stamped a script stamp, a treble cleft and a section of sheet music (7 Gypsies) several times in soft suede stamping off to keep it subtle.  I sponged the soft suede as well as some mellow moss and perfect plum (both SU!) around the image.  Then I "sprinkled" some watered down perfect plum ink and some gold perfect pearls mist.  I stamped my sentiment (STAMPlorations) in timber brown StazOn ink.  I added a pale purple sheer bow.  I'm pretty sure I found this ribbon at the dollar store.  It's really pretty.  This is a one layer card except for the bow.

I hope you'll all be able to join us and play along over at Inkspirational.  You need to check out the projects by the DT and our fabulous Guest Designer, Beate of Stempelomis Bastelkeller.  Her card is fantastic so please go visit and leave her some love.  :-)

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:

Addicted to CAS - the code word is "distress".
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - anything goes.
MFT Card Challenge - Color Challenge #16

Thanks so much for stopping by and a have a lovely day!

Let's Celebrate!

I'mmmm baaaaack!  :-). It stopped snowing.  Thank goodness.  About 20cm fell I think. It's that big fluffy stuff though so not to heavy to shovel.  Our neighbour plows our yard and driveway but I still have to do a bit of shoveling.  Glad I don't have to go anywhere for a couple if days.  Anyway, I've got my second card to share.  Take a look...

I first masked off my middle section and using my SSS falling snow stencil I sponged on my spotted background.  I used Spiced Marmelade distress ink.  I removed the mask and added some teal glitter tape (Recollections) I had trimmed.  I stamped my dotted circle (Neat and Tangled) in SSS Sea Glass ink and fussy cut it out.  I adhered it to my card.  Then I stamped the banner and sentiment (Neat and Tangled) in black and fussy cut it out and attached it to my card.  Then I stamped my butterflies (STAMPlorations) one in Spiced Marmelade and one in Broken China distress ink.  I fussy cut them out and attached them to the card.  The larger butterfly is attached with foam dots.  I love the freshness of this card with the colours.

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:

Less is More - things with wings.
STAMPlorations - sketch #28

Uniko Studio - birthday
showCASe your style - birthday

Well, thanks so much for visiting today and I hope you have a fantastic rest of the week!

Washi Joy

Hey everyone!  Sorry I've not been sharing much this month.  My mojo has gone on vacation without me it seems.  Somewhere warmer and no snow, no doubt.  Yet again, we are getting snow today.  School was cancelled so we are all snug and warm in the house.  At least it's not so freezing cold today.  :-). I snuck upstairs for a bit and attempted to finish off a couple of cards I'd been working on. Success!  They are both done!  Now I can share.  :-). Here's the first card...

Yes, it's a Christmas card.  I'm still working on getting my Christmas cards ready before December.  This one is NOT a one layer, if you can believe it!  I took my beige card base and adhered some green and gold glitter tape and some new patterned Christmas washi tape (all by Tapeworks). Then I die cut two stars.  One from a dark yellow cardstock and the other from some red striped paper I had lying around.  I sponged some soft suede (SU!) on both around the edges.  I covered the yellow star more to make it darker.  I then die cut the word joy from some dark green cardstock.  I added some Wink of Stella to the word joy and the golden star.  Lastly, I adhered the die cuts (all cut with The Slice) down, raising the striped star with some foam dots.

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

Merry Monday Christmas Challenge - make a card with a star.
Jingle Belles - use washi tape
Christmas Card Challenges - anything goes
ABC Christmas Challenge - D is for dies cuts.
Addicted to Stamps and More - Holiday

I'll be back in a little bit to share another card.  Thanks for stopping by!  :-)

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #4

Greetings everyone!  It time again for another fun challenge over at One Layer Christmas Card Challenge.  I hope everyone still has their Christmas stamps out and is ready to play!

Yes, it's still Anything Goes but this time the twist is Bells.  Now I know you want to get a head start on those Christmas cards and what's easier to mail than a one layer?  So, come on over and play with us!  If you use the twist you'll be entered in for the monthly prize draw of a fabulous stencil by ARTplorations!  Now my card is definitely not what you'd call traditional when it comes to colours.  Far from it but I just love the colours and I've always been partial to non-traditional colours when it comes to Christmas cards.  Take a look...

So, I masked off a small strip along the edge of my card base and stamped my bells (STAMPlorations) in Hero Arts neon inks.  Then once the mask was removed I trimmed a piece of washi tape (Scotch Expressions) and adhered it to the card.  Then I carefully inked up my sentiment stamp (Michaels), the flourish with the neon inks and the words with black.  I find these colours so fun and I'm thinking I'll be using them again for more Christmas cards.

You need to come on over to OLCCC and check out the other DT girls cards too.  They are all awesome!  Hope you will all be able to play along with us.

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

Jingle Belles - Here We Go A Washi-ing, use washi tape.
Addicted to CAS - code word is Mask
ABC Christmas Challenge - C is for Colorful

Well, I hope you are starting to see Spring wherever you are.  We are still digging out from the last blizzard we had on Sunday.  No more winter!  Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by!

Inkspirational Photo Inspiration Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for another challenge over at Inkspirational!  This time its a photo inspiration challenge!

Let this gorgeous picture inspire you!  I love the cherry blossoms.  It's what I used as my inspiration for my card.  Take a look...

I first masked off my area with some washi tape then sponged pink and yellow dye ink. They blended together to make lovely orangey areas. I then stamped my cherry blossoms in black.  Then I coloured them in with some spectrum noir markers and a white gel pen.  I kept it pretty subtle.  Then I stamped my sentiment (Fiskars) in black.  Then the mask was removed.  I think I've become a one layer junkie as I seem to being making more and more one layers!  LOL.

I hope you'll join me and the girls in all the fun.  You have to check out the other Ink DT members projects at least.  They are fabulous!  You know what else is fabulous?  Our Guest Designer is!  It's none other than the delightful Darnell of djkardkreations!  She's a talented card artist, a hysterically funny blogger and a wonderful person too!  Her card is fantastic, so go take a look!

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:

Addicted to CAS - code word is Mask.
Addicted to Stamps and More - Anything Goes

Enjoy The Ride

So yesterday my little boy turned 7 years old.  I don't know where the time went!  I keep telling him to stop growing up but he won't.  LOL.  Anyway, I needed to make a card for him and wasn't sure what to make.  Then I remembered these cool stamps my husband got me for Christmas .  They are from a company called Dragonfly Laser.  And that's all I know.  Take a look....

Doctor Who stamps!!  I love Doctor Who and so does Donovan.  So I first took the Tardis and stamped it in midnight pigment ink (Color Box) and embossed in clear.  I took a couple of Spectrum Noir markers and coloured the light on top and the window, then I created my space/galaxy.  Now because I had to stamp my Tardis on white paper I had to sponge on black ink for my galaxy.  It didn't matter is it wasn't solid as that just added to the misty quality of the galaxy.  I then sponged on a little yellow, pink, and blue ink randomly.  Then I splattered white paint with my trusty toothbrush tool, taking care to cover my Tardis, to create my stars.  I highlighted some of the bigger "stars" by using an pencil eraser head and some white ink and spinning it in spot.  It creates a halo around the star like it's glowing.  I attached my panel to a white card base and then stamped my sentiments in black.  The Happy Birthday is by STAMPlorations and the Enjoy the Ride is by Studio G.  I just love how this turned out.  I also stamped the other Doctor Who stamp I got of a Dalek inside.  My son also loved the card.  :-)

I'm going to enter this card into Addicted to Stamps and More's, Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks so much for dropping by and I hope you are all having a great week!

Guest Designing at STAMPlorations February Challenge

Good morning everyone!  I am guest designing over at STAMPlorations again for their monthly challenge for February.  I know I've guested there quite a few times already but I'm always so honored to do so.  I love the stamps and Shery and the DT are all so talented and friendly.  :-). Anyways, onto to the challenge!

Stamps and Hearts?!  It's the perfect month for hearts!  I was excited to create another Valentine card but realized I don't have a heart stamp by STAMPlorations!  What to do?!  Improvise!  Take a look...

I have these post-it notes that are heart shaped so I decided to use one as a mask.  I then took my red, light pink and metallic pink gelatos and coloured my flower stamp (Eclectic Florals set by STAMPlorations) then wet the stamp with water using a paint brush.  I found that spraying with water made it too wet so the brush gave me some control over that.  I stamped all over my panel with the mask with the three colours.  Then I removed the mask and let it dry.  I attached my panel to a white card base with foam dots and added a red satin puffy heart.  I think I salvaged the puffy heart off of something years ago.  I decided to leave it with no sentiment.  I didn't think it needed one.  :-)

I hope you'll join in on the challenge over at STAMPlorations.  There's always a prize to be won and great inspiration from the DT.  Look forward to seeing you there!

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:

CAS on Sunday - add a flower or flowers.
STAMPlorations - (ongoing) Anything Goes challenge
AAA Cards - "love love love"

Fusion Card Challenge - "Heartfelt". A great inspiration photo.  I was inspired by all the hearts.

Hope you all have a lovely day and thank you so much for stopping by!

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #3

Welcome to another challenge over at One Layer Christmas Cards!  We have another great challenge for you. Once again it's Anything Goes but the twist this time is Gold.

Now I know you all can make some gorgeous one layer cards using some gold.  Remember, that by using the twist you are entered into the monthly random draw for a prize!  Here's my card for inspiration.

There's something so rich about black and gold together.  So, I stamped my wreath (Penny Black) and embossed using my new gold embossing powder I got for Christmas.  It actually has gold glitter in it and is really pretty. Too bad you can't really see it well.  I stamped and embossed my sentiment the same way.  I then used my scoring board to score two lines on each side.  This would be an easy card to reproduce, if you were so inclined.

Well, I hope you will all join us over at OLCCC and play along.  At least check out the other DT members projects.  They are all beautiful.

I'm going to link up to Merry Monday Christmas Challenge where we are to create a card with a bow on it.  My wreath stamp just happens to have a built in bow.  :-)

Thanks for visiting and I hope you all have a wonderful day!  :-)

Watercolour Leaves

Hey there!  Today looks like it's going to be sunny but cold.  A welcome change to the snow we got yesterday.  I swear, we are getting as much snow in a week as we usually get in a month!  There's more on the way Monday evening too.  Boo.  I'm dreaming of somewhere warm and sunny with a lovely beach right about now.  Sigh.....

Anyway, I've got a card to share today.  I decided to try some of my new distress inks.  Take a look...

I dusted off a very old stamp by a company that no longer exists (PSX).  It's such a lovely leaf stamp though, that it needed to be used again.  I inked it up with my distress inks, first with Marmalade then with some Mown Lawn.  Then I spritzed water on it once or twice.  Then I stamped it.  It makes such a cool watercolour effect.  I repeated these steps several times.  Then I stamped my sentiment (STAMPlorations, Vignette:  Chevrons and Arrows) in black.  Then I mounted my panel on my card base with foam dots.  I love how distress ink reacts with water.  :-)

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:

Addicted to Stamps and More - create a CAS card
CAS-ual Fridays - use a watercolour technique
Penny Black and More - anything goes (except a digi)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a fantastic day!
