STAMPlorations Color Blooms Blog Hop and Linky Party

Hey everyone!  Over at STAMPlorations we are having a blog hop showing you how we used our coloring pages from Shery's new coloring book, Color Blooms, in our projects.  There's loads of inspiration and a Linky party too.  Plus, prizes!

I decided to finish coloring the sunflower page I had started a while ago and use it on a card.  Take a look....

So, once I finished coloring my page with my Spectrum Noir markers I cut a strip out.  I attached a piece of black and white houndstooth washi tape to my white card base and then attached my coloring page strip.  Lastly, I stamped my sentiment (Bloom Happy set).

I hope you will join in on all the fun.  Make sure to visit the other STAMPlorations girls blogs too. There's a link-up too where you can share your projects.  There's also some great prizes to be won.  Here's some of the details:

What you need to do:

Muse: ChristmasVisions Guest Designer

Good Morning everyone!  Today I am happy to say that I'm guest designing over at Muse: ChristmasVisions.
The wonderfully talented and lovely, Ardyth, asked if I would and, of course, I said yes!  It's always an honour to be asked to guest design.  Plus, I love making those Christmas cards and I'm behind this year.  :-)  I actually made three different cards but the one I'm sharing today was my favourite.  Check it out....

I decided to try out the pinecone and pine bough stamps by Clearly Besotted that had yet to see ink.  That's right, they are NBUS!  I'd used some of the leaves from this set but not these stamps.  The first thing I did was stamp the pine bough in three different green inks (Memento: New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves, and Cottage Ivy).  Then I stamped the pinecones in Soft Suede (SU!) ink.  I fussy cut them out painstakingly and attached them to my card.  I stamped my berries (STAMPlorations) in Lady Bug red (Memento) first then went over them with a red metallic gel pen.  I stamped the sentiment (STAMPlorations) in Versamark black ink.

Well, I do hope you'll join us over at M:CV.  I'd love to see how my card may have inspired you!

Have a lovely day and thanks for stopping by!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #93

Hey everyone!  I'm back!  It seems like forever since I last wrote up a post.  :-)  Well, I'm back card making again. We had a wonderful holiday. The Gaspe region of Quebec is really very beautiful.  It was really great to see my family too.

Anyway, it's time for an Inspiration post on the STAMPlorations blog!  We've got some lovely cards to share today.  I decided to play with some of the new CUTplorations dies. Take a look...

I die cut several small butterflies (Buttercups and Butterflies Coordinating Dies set) from watercolour paper and using Distress inks, I watercoloured the following colours on:  Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed,   Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Abandoned Coral, and Seedless Preserves.  The red Butterflies were made by combining Seedless Preserves and Abandoned Coral to make a darker red.  I spritzed them lightly with Perfect Pearls Heirloom Gold mist.  I die cut a base for them (Bloom Happy Coordinating Dies set) from white cardstock. I scored in the middle of the butterflies so they would have some dimension and attached to the base.  I stenciled (Flourishes stencil) on my card base with Silver Delicata ink fading it out. I attached my butterfly panel with foam dots and stamped the sentiment (Trendy Feathers set) in black.

Well, I hope you go on over to the main blog and check out the other fab DT projects.  Don't forget to comment there for a chance to win a prize too!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by!

STAMPlorations August New Release Blog Hop

It's Day 5 of the August New Release Hop over at STAMPlorations!  Now it's time for the Inspiration girls to show you the projects we made using the new sets!  But first look at these sets and their matching dies!

Super fun aren't they?!  I just love them. I'm still getting used to using dies with my cards. I'm mostly a one layer girl these days. But they work so well and are really fun to use. It's nice to have the option now. :-). Check out what I made....

I coloured the flower image with my Spectrum Noir markers and die cut it out.  I die cut the border around it in black.  I sprayed my card base with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mist and then attached pink patterned washi tape, a narrow strip of black sticker and a sentiment stamped white strip.  I attaced my floral piece over top.

I used the Stained Glass stencil and some white embossing paste that had a fine glitter in it.  I then coloured my flowers with my Spectrum Noir markers and die cut them out.  I attached them to my card base as well as the sentiment which was cut in a banner shape.

I die cut my bird images and then sponged the following Distress ink colours on them:  Peacock Feathers, Abandoned Coral, Seedless Preserves, Spiced Marmalade, Mowed Lawn, Picked Raspberry.  I attached them to my card base.  I die cut the celebrate from black card stock and added some Wink of Stella after adhering it to my card.

I stamped the animals in white StazOn ink and then sponged Peacock Feathers Distress ink over top.  The white StazOn acts like a resist.  I die cut the wonky stitched rectangle and stamped the sentiment and heart on it then adhered it to my card base at an angle and trimmed the edges.  I stamped and die cut the bird and coloured it in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I attached it to my card with some foam dots.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today and I've managed to inspire you.  You should definitely check out the main blog for all the details on prizes and such.

STAMPlorations CASEplorations August

Hey everyone!  It's time for another CASEplorations over at STAMPlorations!  We've got a fabulous designer this month that we are CASEing.  It's Vijaylaxmi Siyal (Shalu) of All By Heart Creations.
Just take a look....

Isn't it awesome?  Bold and beautiful.  I loved the bright red against the black and white stripes.  That was my inspiration for my card.  Check it out....

First, I stamped my flowers (Blooming Buds set) masking where it was needed.  Then I created masks to cover the flowers and using some washi tape I created my stripes by sponging on black ink fading it out on the one side.  I removed the masks and then created the negative version of the flower masks to protect the background.  Then I sponged on Abandoned Coral and Spiced Marmalade Distress ink to colour in my flowers.  I added some gold with a Pentel marker to the stamens of the flowers.  Once the masks were removed, I stamped the sentiment (Strong Women set) in black ink.  I really love how this turned out.  It's a lot of masking but so worth it.

So, I hope you'll all pop on by the main blog and check out all the fabulous cards by the DT and remember there are prizes to be won too!

Have a fantastic day and thanks for dropping by!

STAMPlorations Coloring Book - Color Blooms

Hey everyone!  I'm taking a bit of a break this month as we've got holidays and such.  So, you won't be seeing too many posts from me but I'll be back in full force come September!

Today I just wanted to share the news about a new product over at STAMPlorations!  Shery has made a fabulous coloring book!  It's called Color Blooms.

It's available on the STAMPlorations web site but also on Amazon.  All the details are over at the main blog. Some of us STAMP girls have colored up some examples for you using different mediums in honor of National Coloring Book Day!  Take a look....

This first one was colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers. They work quite well on the paper. They don't blend quite as well, but it not really that noticeable. The paper buckles a bit while wet but flattens out once dry. The colours seems darkens when wet but dry to the proper shade. All in all, SN markers work great!  :-)

This next page was coloured with just regular water based Crayola markers. I wanted to test them out to see how they would work. Not everyone can afford or is interested in getting the fancier markers. I have to say they work pretty well. You can layer the colour but they don't really blend. You do have to be careful not to over saturate the paper as it will start to pill if you do.  I would definitely use them again. :-)

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little bit of coloring fun. Make sure to check out all the other examples at the main blog too!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by!
