STAMPlorations Inspration Post #40, Roundup

Hey everyone!  This is the last Inspiration post for September over at STAMPlorations!  We have a great bunch of projects to share with you and if you want you can play along too.  You can CASE my card, or any of the other DT's cards, or CASE Gail's tag from the CASEplorations post.  You can even CASE any of our cards from Inspiration Posts #36, #37, #38, or #39.  As usual, there's prizes!  So, let me show you my card for today.

(All stamps are by STAMPlorations)

This card came about by just playing around with some Distress inks and stamps.  I love the way you can get Distress inks to blend just by adding a bit of water.  For this card I took two feather stamps (Trendy Feathers set) and inked them up with peacock feathers, picked raspberry and antique linen.  I spritzed it with water then stamped. I did this over two thirds of the card then added a trimmed strip of washi tape.  I stamped the sentiment (Balloons and Banners set) vertically in black.  Love these colours together.  So bright and fresh!  :-)

I hope you come on over to the STAMPlorations blog and check out all the other fabulous projects and maybe add your own!  Join us in October for a new round of Inspiration posts too!

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

STAMPlorations Inspiration Post #39

Hey everyone!  Are you ready for some more inspiration from the STAMPlorations team?  Today we've got some great projects to share with you.  And if you feel so inclined, you can CASE one of our cards from today's post or from posts #36, #37, #38, or from any of our cards from the CASEplorations post, including our GD's (Gail) card.  Here's what I made for you today...

(All stamps are by STAMPlorations)

This card was made using at least one non-Christmas stamps.  The wreath itself was made from a foliage stamp from the Frames and Flowers set.  First I took the circle frame from the set and in a very pale beige ink I stamped it on my light beige card base.  This gave me the nice circle shape to use as a guide when I stamped my foliage. I stamped the foliage in three Memento green inks; New Sprout, Bamboo Leaves and Cottage Ivy.  I went from lightest to darkest.  Then I added three small paper flowers I've had in my stash forever.  I attached them using some small gold brads.  I decided after I added them to stamps few twigs (Christmas Bell Medley set) and had to cover the flowers so they wouldn't get stamped.  I added some white berries to the twigs with a white gel pen.  Then I stamped the sentiment (Christmas Bell Medley set) in soft suede ink (SU!).  I added some scored lines to the top and bottom.  I'm really liking the scored lines lately. I think they really add to the design without overwhelming it.

I hope you'll join in on the fun with us and CASE a card.  You should check out the other DT ladies projects too. All fabulous!  Well, thanks for visiting and I hope you have an awesome day!

Inkspirational - Photo Inspiration Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!  We are planning to go to an auction today.  We love checking out auctions around our area as you can find a lot of cool antiques.  Sometimes we get lucky and the prices are good.  Sometimes we walk away with almost nothing.  It's fun though.  Anyway, today is the start of another Inkspirational challenge!  We've got an inspiration picture for you this time.  Check it out...

Doesn't that look like a lovely fall day?  I really loved the look and colours of the trees.  Its what inspired my card.  Take a look...

First, I inked up my birch trees (Clearly Besotted) with SSS sea glass in and then added a bit of teal zeal Memento ink and stamped across my panel.  I stamped with just the sea glass ink in the spaces in between next.  I lightly sponged a little bit of sea glass ink and spiced marmalade Distress ink in the white spaces between the trees.  Then, using the same colours (but watered down) I splattered over top of everything.  I matted my panel in a rusty orange and attached to my card base.  I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted) in dove gray (StazOn) ink.  Really love the soft blue with the orange on this card.

Hope you'll be able to play along with us for this challenge.  You should check out the other DT girls projects too.  As usual, they are all amazing!  We have a fabulous Guest Designer too.  Jen of Magic Flying Boots.  She's created a fantastic card to inspire you.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a marvelous day!

STAMPlorations Inspiration Post #38

Hello!  It's time again for an Inspiration post over at STAMPlorations!  As always we encourage you to join in and CASE one of our cards from today's post or from posts #36 or #37.  You can also CASE Gail's card from the CASEplorations post.  If you do play along you could win a prize too!  Here's what I made...

I started off by stamping my sentiment (Fond Expressions 2 set) in black.  Then I stamped my larger butterflies (Trendy Butterflies set) in SSS sea glass ink and picked raspberry Distress ink.  I stamped the smaller butterfly (Frames and Flowers set) in spiced marmalade Distress ink.  Then I splattered some watered down silver acrylic paint.  A quick and simple card that you could make a lot of in lots of different colour combos.

I do hope you'll all join in on the fun and CASE a card!  You should definitely check out what the rest of the team made too!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by!

STAMPlorations Mini Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone!  Today is a great day to show you a new stamp set being released over at STAMPlorations!  It's another great set that's a part of Dee's Artsy Impressions line and it's called Christmas Bell Medley.  There's a fun hop going on today and if you comment along the way you have a chance to win the new set!  Just take a look at this beauty!

Isn't it awesome?  So much fun to be had here.  So, here's the details:  comment on the main blog and the designers blogs by September 25th (Friday), 11:55pm Pacific time.  The winner will be announced on Sunday, September 27th.

Here's what I made with this amazing new set...

I decided to make two cards.  The first one is using Kraft cardstock as my base and I stamped the pine bough in three different green inks (Memento: Bamboo Leaves, New Sprout, and Forest Moss Distress ink). Then I stamped the berries in red.  However, they didn't show up well so I went over them with a red metallic gel pen.  Then I stamped the sentiment in golden glitz Delicata ink.

The second card was done on a pale blue card base.  I stamped the poinsettia and embossed it in white.  Then I filled it in with clear Wink of Stella.  I added a strip of silver glitter tape (Darice) and then stamped the sentiment in  Dove Gray ink (StazOn).

I can't wait to play with this set some more!  Hope you'll hop along with us today and I hope you've enjoyed your visit here.

Have a fabulous day!

OLCCC #18 Reminder

Well, it seems as if Autumn has arrived as we are having much cooler nights.  The days are still quite nice but less humid.  Autumn is my favourite season but unfortunately, it is followed by Winter.  Blah!  Don't get me wrong, I love a little bit of the white stuff especially around Christmas time but then it can go away. LOL.  Speaking of Christmas, it's time to remind you about the challenge still going on at One Layer Christmas Card Challenges.  The theme, as usual, is anything goes, but we do have an optional twist of mistletoe.  If you do make a card with the twist you get entered in for September's prize drawing.  This time around, I made a card without the twist.  Take a look...

I've had this stamp for a while and I've been wanting to use it.  It's so cute!  I got it from my Mom who sends me lots of old stamps she finds.  She knows the key to my heart!  LOL. Anyway, the label says its by Stampabilities.  First, I stamped in Memento black ink and then used my Spectrum Noir markers to colour it in.  I used a little bit of Wink of Stella on the light bulbs which, of course, you can't see in the photo.  I stamped the sentiment (STAMPlorations) in the same black ink.  I love the simplicity of the card as those adorable little mice needed to be the center of attention.  :-)

I do hope you'll join in on the fun over at OLCCC.  There's some great news too.  This time the challenge runs for THREE weeks!  Plenty of time to whip up a card.  :-)

Hope you have a fantastic day and come visit me again soon!

A Card Makeover

Hey everyone. Just want to do a quick post to link up to a couple of challenges. Today is going to be a busy day as we are going to get a new front door and a new washing machine.  Plus, we are picking up the new countertops for the kitchen we ordered. Then once that's all done it's off to the Queens County Fair in Gagetown. It will be Donovan's first time on the rides. He's pretty excited. Anyway, on to the card.  This card came about because of the Makeover Challenge that Hero Arts is having right now. You were to take a previously made card and remake it. This is the card I chose to remake...

And this is the new card I made...

I, obviously, flipped the design vertical and changed the main image I used.  I stamped my image (K5620, Winter Moon) using the Hero Arts Pool to Navy ombré ink then cut it out with my oval cutter. Using the same oval cutter I cut out a oval border as well. On the card base, rather than having an embossed panel, I stamped a snowflake (from the Hero Arts LP209 set) in SSS sea glass ink. Then I adhered my border to my image and attached it with some foam dots to my card. Then I took a pale blue piece of card stock cut a narrow banner from it and stamped my sentiment (Micheals stamp) in the ombré ink.  Then I attached it to the card. I loved the original card quite a bit and I love how this card turned out too. :-)

Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a great day!

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #18

Hello!  It's a lovely day to start a new challenge, don't you think?  Well, today over at One Layer Christmas Cards Challenge, we have a new one starting.  As usual it's anything goes, but there is a twist if you choose to accept.  :-).  This time the twist is Mistletoe.  And if you use the twist you could win a prize!

Can you believe that of all the millions (okay, maybe not millions, but my husband would say it was) of Christmas stamps I have that I didn't have a single mistletoe one?!!  Until I got this new set from STAMPlorations, Dee's Artsy Impressions line.  But, shhhhhhhh, it's not quite available yet (check back next week to see more) so let's just move on to the card!  Take a look...

First, I stamped my bow and then again on a post-it note to make a mask of it.  Once my bow was covered by the mask I stamped my mistletoe.  I removed the mask and coloured it all in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I added a bit of sparkle with my Wink of Stella pen to the berries.  I stamped the sentiment in black and then added three scored lines on either side.  I really like how the scored lines really add to the overall design while still keeping it CAS.

Well, I hope I've inspired you to not only get a head start on your Christmas cards but to join us over at OLCCC.  Remember there's a prize up for grabs if you use the twist.  You really should at least check out the other DT member's projects as they are all fabulous.

I hope you all have a fantastic day and thanks so much for visiting.

STAMPlorations Inspiration Post #37

Hi everyone!  It's time again to try and inspire you!  Over at STAMPlorations the Inspiration Design Team has come up with some more fabulous cards to try and entice you to create!  If you want join in you could CASE my card or any of the DT's cards or Gail's card from the CASEplorations Post.  Or if you'd like you can CASE one of our cards from the Inspiration posts #36.  Whichever way you'd like to play you can link up your cards and have a chance to win some prizes!  Today I have two cards to share with you.  Take a look...

(this detail gives you a closer look at the lovely gold ink by Delicata)

(All stamps are by STAMPlorations)

Does this design look familiar?  That's because it is!  I took the design from the card I created HERE and made an Autumn and Christmas card.  This design lends itself to all kinds of occasions.  So, the Autumn card was made with the leaves from the Dee's Arsty Impressions set, Frames and Flowers.  I stamped the sentiment first (Fond Expressions 2 set) in black then the leaves scattered around.  I used the following ink colours: Ruby Red, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede (all by SU!), Bamboo Leaves, Cantaloupe (both by Memento) and Golden Glitz (Delicata).

The Christmas card was made with the sentiment (Holiday Sketches: Christmas Candles) stamped in Nautical Navy (Memento).  Then I took the snowflakes from the set: Vignette: Christmas Block, and performed a little surgery by cutting out the individual snowflakes.  I stamped them in the following ink colours: Dove Gray (StazOn), Nautical Navy, Teal Zeal (both by Memento), Sea Glass (Simon Says Stamp), Pool to Navy Ombre ink (Hero Arts), and Perfect Plum (SU!).  I added a bit of bling with some tiny white pearls and clear rhinestones.

So, if you want to play along and do some CASEing come on over and visit us HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!

I'd like to link up my Autumn card only to the following challenges:

Addicted to CAS - code word is Leaves.

Inkspirational Colour Challenge - Orange & Green

Hey everyone!  Guess what time it is?  It's time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational!  Yay!  We've got a colour challenge for you this time.  It's Orange and Green.

You can use any shade of orange and green and neutral colours are fine like beige, black and white.  We're also fine with natural skin tones and hair/fur tones but all other colours are off limits.  At first I thought it was going to be hard to use just orange and green. I was stumped for an idea.  I thought I could do flowers then an idea popped in my head.  Pumpkins!  Now pumpkins come in a variety of colours but orange and green are the most familiar.  So I went with that.  Take a look...

I stamped my pumpkins (small and medium ones are by Lawn Fawn and the larger one is from Michael's) in black using some masks I made on beige cardstock.  Then sentiment (made from two stamp sets, the "for you" is Lawn Fawn and the "thankful" is STAMPlorations) is stamped in black as well.  Then I coloured the pumpkins in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  This card makes me think of fall and Halloween, both of which I love.  :-)

I do hope you'll join in on the fun with us!  You must check out the other DT's projects too. They are all fabulous!  We also have a wonderful Guest Designer joining us by the name of Chriss from the Botanical Cafe.  She has made an amazing card to inspire you.

Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit and I hope you all have a fantastic day!

STAMPlorations Inspiration Post #36

Hello!  It's time again for an Inspiration post over at STAMPlorations!  As always we encourage you to join in and CASE one of our cards or you can CASE Gail's card from the CASEplorations post.  If you do play along you could win a prize too!  Here's what I made...

I took the triangles stamp (Vignette: Chevron and Arrows set) inked it up with picked raspberry, spiced marmalade, and broken china Distress inks and sprayed lightly with water before stamping.  Love the way these inks blend!  Once I repeated this step several times I stamped the sentiment (Party Time set) in black.

I do hope you'll all join in on the fun and CASE a card!  You should definitely check out what the rest of the team made too!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by!

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #17 Reminder

Just a reminder that there's still about a week left to link up your cards to One Layer Christmas Card Challenges current challenge.  As always it's anything goes but you have the option to use the twist.  The twist this time is family.  If you do use the twist you'll be entered in for the drawing to win an ARTplorations stencil!  Here's my card to inspire you...

I decided to use a pale aqua card base for a change.  I wanted to emboss my image in gold and gold always looks great on this pale blue.  My stamp is by Hero Arts and I actually forgot I had it (it's NBUS!) or I might have used it for my first card.  LOL!  I stamped it with versamark and then embossed it in glitter gold powder (Recollections).  I did the same for the sentiment (STAMPlorations).  I scored some lines on both sides to just finish off the card.  It seemed to need something.  I glued the bow on last.  The bow looks rather white in the photo but its actually a pale blue.

Hope you'll take a moment to join us over at OLCCC.  We would love to see you there!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #17

Isn't it a lovely day to work on some Christmas cards?  No?  Well, maybe you can look at some first then if you're in the Christmas spirit you can make one and join us over at One Layer Christmas Card Challenges!  It's time for another fun challenge and as always its an anything goes theme with an optional twist.  This time the twist is "Family".

I had a hard time getting my mind around this twist as I wasn't sure what to do.  But then I thought that families sent Christmas cards to one another so why not run with that idea.  Here's what I came up with...

All the stamps I used are by Neat and Tangled from the Winter Wishes set.  First, I created some hill masks and sponged on my blue colours for the sky and hills using the colours from the pool to navy ombre ink pad by Hero Arts.  Using the same hill masks I added the houses, stamping in black ink and the trees using mowed lawn Distress ink.  I added a little star to one tree with canary yellow ink (Memento).  Then I stamped the sentiment in black.  I stamped the small snowflakes in sea glass ink (SSS) and then went over them with some Wink of Stella which, of course, is almost impossible to see in the picture.  This is a really cute stamp set and I really like how this card turned out.

I do hope you'll be able to join us and I hope you enjoy all the other DT projects as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

STAMPlorations - CASEplorations September

Hey everyone!  Have we got a great CASEplorations muse for you this month!  joining us is Gail of Crafty Nomad.  We invite you to CASE her card or one of our cards.  There's a possibility of winning a prize if you do!  Check out her hilariously cute tag we got to CASE...

Makes you giggle, doesn't it?  Now I don't have anything pig themed so I went with the colours and some of the design elements for my CASE.  Check it out...

(All stamps are by STAMPlorations)

I die cut a tag out and stenciled some circles (Christmas Trees stencil) in picked raspberry Distress ink.  Then I stamped my two roses (Blossom Overture set) in dove gray StazOn.  Then using the picked raspberry and some mowed lawn Distress ink like watercolours and coloured them in.  I stamped the large and small sentiment words (Trendy Butterflies set) in the dove gray ink.  I used Delicata golden glitz ink to ink up the edges of the tag.  I attached the tag to my white card base using foam dots.  Lastly, I added some pale pink sequins and some gold glitter tape.

I do hope you'll join us this month and CASE a card.  We love to see your awesome projects!

Have a lovely day and thanks for visiting!
