RCS Card Challenge, "We Bought a Zoo"

So it's another fun challenge at Red Carpet Studio and this time the inspiration movie is, "We Bought a Zoo".  If you haven't seen this movie, you should!  It's awesome!  :-). So the requirement for the challenge is to include an animal on your card.  Who's our sponsor this time, you ask?  Why it's none other than Inky Impressions!  They are offering up a $10 gift certificate to one lucky person.

Now, this is to be my last post for Red Carpet Studio as my term is up and I've decided not to stay on.  Things are going to be getting busy for me soon and I will have little time to give to a DT.  I've really enjoyed my time at RCS and so appreciate the opportunity that Ashley gave me.  Thanks Ashley!!  :-).  I will miss all the girls on the team but will try to find time to play along in the challenges when I can.  Now for my card.  Or should I say cards.

Seeing as how it was my last challenge at RCS I decided to go all out and make a four card set!  I stamped my four animals (by Inkadinkado,I think) in timber brown StazOn and coloured with my Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut them.  I computered generated the sentiments as I didn't have any of the fun pun-y sayings.  Once I figured out where to place the sentiment I made my card base and added my animals using some foam dots.  Clean and simple and fun!  :-)

I'd also like to take a moment and welcome two new followers of my blog.  Welcome to Florence of Florence and Freddie part 2 and to Stacy Brais of Stacy Kay Designs.  Be sure to check out their blogs! :-)

Anyway, thanks for coming to visit and you have a lovely day!

Happy Anniversary My Love

So, today is my husband and my 9th Anniversary.  We've been together a little longer than that (11 years) but it really seems like we've always been together.  Have you ever started remembering some event from your past and started out saying to your significant other, " oh remember when we were here and did this.....wait, that was before you and I met.  Weird, I swear I remember you with me when that happened."  LOL.  Anyway, I made a card (of course) for my hubby and wanted to share.

I just love this lighthouse by Just For Fun Stamps.  I love playing with my watercolour pencils too.  :-). I wanted just a little more colour so I added the mats of blue and red.  The sentiment is an OLD All Night Media stamp.  My husband seemed to like it.  :-)

I'm going to link it up to Addicted to CAS's new challenge.  Their code word is:  Holiday.

Well, that's all for now.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Moxie Fab World - Holiday Home Decor Challenge

Got a quick post today to share something I whipped up for the Moxie Fab World's Holiday Home Decor Challenge.  I took a plain old little jar candle and transformed it.  I think it turned out well.

I used up some of my scraps for this which is always good.  Not sure who makes the green/blue snowflake paper.  All the cardstock is by Recollections.  I used my Fiskars circle cutter and my Slice for the scallop circle.  I stamped my snowflake (Technique Tuesday) in white StazOn ink. Wrapped some white card stock around the jar candle and then the snowflake paper.  Then I attached the stamped snowflake circle.  I tied a double bow in navy and silver around the top portion of the jar.  I also stamped with the white StazOn on the top of the lid and added a green rhinestone.  Isn't it cute?
So many possible ways to do this too.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a lovely day!

Moxie Fab World - The Holiday Gift Tag Challenge (Take 3)

Hello everyone!  It's been awhile since I last posted but with my husband on holidays this past week we've been keeping busy.  We have been getting ready for our yard sale which means going through boxes and boxes of stuff.  So, we've been reorganizing and purging which is all good.  :-). I realize now that I was going to have a post or two scheduled to happen while on holidays but that didn't happen.  I completely forgot.  :-). Oh well.  Anyway, I have another Christmas tag to share today for Moxie Fab World's Holiday Gift Tag challenge.

I was inspired by a graphic that was used for a TAWS "Be Inspired" challenge.  Here's the graphic.

I've been wanting to create a yellow Christmas card for a while but have yet to make something I liked.  Now this isn't a card but I think that I could easily move onto that next. Here's my tag.

I used a free digi stamp from TAWS.  (Check it out HERE). Coloured with my SpectrumNoir markers and fussy cut out.  I used my Slice machine to cut the grey snowflake out.  I made my own tag shape from a white wood grain patterned paper by DCWV Tradewinds paper pad.  I cut a strip of white card stock and used a Fiskars edge punch to make the fancy edge on the one side.  Then I cut a strip from a We R Memory Keepers patterned paper and layered that on the white strip.  I tied some silver thread around that and then adhered my grey snowflake.  I added some rhinestones to the snowflake for some sparkle.  Then I attached my tree with some foam dots. Lastly, I added the silver ribbon.  I'm quite pleased with the results.  :-).   I may even make a card and and a gift wrapping to match.  :-)

Well, that's all for me for now.  Thanks for stoping by and have a great day!

CAS-ology + 10 Minute Craft Dash

Here's my second post for today.  :-). I wanted to play along with CAS-ology this week as its been much too long since I did.  Their cue word is "Dessert".  Mmmmm, dessert.  I'll admit I've got a pretty big sweet tooth.  :-). Anyway, I knew exactly what stamp set I wanted to use for this challenge.  It's an older hostess set from SU! called Birthday Bakery.  I also wanted to play along with Pretty Pink Posh's, 10 Minute Craft Dash.  It's a birthday challenge since the craft dash has turned one!  Yay!  :-)

I love this set.  The little cakes are so cute and I love the sentiments too.  Now there are about seven little cakes in a row originally but I only wanted 3 so I only inked these three up.  Then I coloured them in with some markers.  I matted them on some purple card stock.  Next, using my panel as a guide I inked up in black my scroll stamp (Heidi Grace Designs) and stamped it twice so it would show above and below my cake panel.  Then I stamped the sentiment in black as well.  I attached my cake panel with some foam dots.  I stamped the Happy Birthday inside as it looked too busy on the front.  It took me almost the entire 10 minutes but I finished just under the wire at 9 min and 47 secs.  It's the colouring that took most of the time.  :-).

Anyway, thanks for stopping by and if you have a chance, check out the challenges.  Lots of fun and inspiration to be found!  Have a fabulous day!

Festive Friday challenge, "candy canes"

So, since my husband starts his holidays after work today and even though we'll be sticking around here mostly, we are going to be busy so not much time to create.  I'm going to schedule some posts to happen during the holidays so my blog doesn't shut down completely for the next week.  :-)  I'll try and check in when I can.  I'm going to share a Christmas card today that I'm linking up to the current challenge over at Festive Friday.  Its an element challenge this time and that element to be included is candy canes.

I have to admit, I love candy canes.  They're just so yummy.  :-)  I didn't really have a stamp, however, that had a candy can on it so I did something I rarely do.  I broke out the stickers.  I had these 3D stickers from Studio 18 and there was some candy canes featured.  Perfect!  I also decided to use some of my never before used Christmas washi tape.

So, I put the washi tape (some is by Recollections and some by K& Company) on, alternating my widths, on a white cardstock card base.  Then I cut a piece of green quilted looking paper (We R Memory Keepers, Merry & Bright) and attached my sticker.  Then I matted it in white cardstock making it bigger at the bottom to stamp my sentiment (Inkadinkado, Peppermint Twist set) in Blazing Red StazOn ink.  This was then matted in red.  I adhered this to the card base with some foam dots.  Its bright and Christmassy and I think I really like it!  :-)  I'm thinking I need to play with some of that Christmas washi tape some more.

***UPDATE***  I'm going to link this up at Moxie Fab World and their Holiday Cards challenge.  It's a challenge to celebrate the new Holiday Cards and More magazine by PaperCrafts.  :-)

Anyway, I've got one last post to do for today and that'll be it for me for a week or so.  Well, except for the one or two scheduled posts, that is.  :-).  Have a wonderful day, everyone!!

Moxie Fab World - The Holiday Gift Tag Challenge (take 2)

Another tag to share with you for the Moxie Fab World's Christmas tag challenge.

This is another favourite of mine.  Who doesn't love a cute snowman?

I cut the tag with my Slice machine again and then stamped some small snowflakes (Technique Tuesday) in white StazOn. Then I hand cut some snowy hills which I sponged a bit of brown around the edges and added a little glitter.  I fussy cut the snowman from some patterned paper I had (not sure who makes it) and added some glitter to the scarf.  I popped him on with some foam dots and then added some ribbon to the tag.  I just love snowmen.  :-)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Moxie Fab World - The Holiday Gift Tag Challenge

I know I've said this many times before but making Christmas cards is my all time favourite.  I'll probably say it again no doubt.  :-). Anyway, to celebrate the new PaperCrafts Magazine, Holiday Cards and more, Moxie Fab World is doing some challenges.  One of them is Christmas tags.

While cards are my favourite to make, gift tags are a close second.  So, over the next few days I'll be sharing some new tags I've made.  Today I've got one that I quite like.

I used my Slice cutter to make the tag and the snowflake.  I sponged the snowflake with some blue ink and then glittered it up with white glitter.  Then added the blue button.  The tag was made using the white StazOn ink masking I discovered a while ago and blue and purple ink sponged over top.  The snowflake stamps are by Technique Tuesday.  I put a strip of blue then white cardstock on the tag, adhered the snowflake and then added the ribbon.  This could be done in any colour you wanted as well.  :-)

Well, thanks for looking and have a fantastic day!

Watercolour Lighthouse

Hello everyone!  I've been busy lately getting ready for a yard sale we are having this month and other summer fun.  :-).  And things will only get busier as I set aside my card making supplies to get my butt in gear to make my items for the Christmas craft fairs I'm participating in again this year.  I'm too far behind.  I'll get it all done I'm sure.  :-). Now, I'm sure I'll be able to make a few cards here and there.  I'll still be posting but I'll probably be sharing some of my Christmas crafts instead.

Anyway, here's a card I made recently.  I used a stamp by Just For Fun Stamps and coloured it in with my watercolour pencils.  Love how it turned out.  I added the clouds which are Jolees Boutique stickers and attached the panel to a blue card base with foam dots.

I'm going to link it up to the following challenges.  Addicted to CAS - code word Summer.  For me nothing says summer like a lighthouse.  One of our favourite things to do in the summer is to explore around and visit the lighthouses around where we live.  Crazy for CAS - the theme is "Holiday".  Lighthouses are a popular tourist attraction here.  :-).

Thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous day!

A Moxie Fab Birthday

Just a quick post to share this card today.  I wanted to play along with Moxie Fab World's Birthday Celebrations week.  I'm linking this card up to the birthday card challenge.

Here's how I made it.  :-)

Cut card base and cut and attach white panel.  Attach tape measure sticker to the bottom of card and set aside.  Cut triangles from patterned paper.  Cut strips of kraft card stock for flag poles and adhere triangles.  Adhere letter stickers to triangles.  Stamp jar on banner patterned paper and fussy cut out.  Tie ribbon around jar and attach brad.  Arrange flags and jar in desired position and adhere flags first.  Then stamp sentiment.  Lastly, adhere jar with foam dots.

The supplies are pretty much all from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection by American Crafts.  The sentiment is from simple expressions set by Fiskars.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
