STAMPlorations Inspiration #83

Good morning everyone!  It's the last day of June and that means a last Inspiration post for the month over at STAMPlorations!  How time has flown!  School is over and Summer holidays have begun. I can't believe my son has finished grade 2 and will be moving on to grade 3!  :-)  We have a fun summer planned with trying out some science experiments, setting off his rocket, flying his new Star Wars kite and a trip to the Gaspe region in Quebec with family.  Yay summer!

Anyway, I've got a lovely and simple card to share today. I made this for my son's bus driver.  Check it out....

I masked off a portion of my light blue card base and stamped my butterflies (Winged Things set) in Broken China Distress ink, Sea Glass SSS ink, and Nautical Blue Memento ink.  I added some shimmer to some of them with my Wink of Stella pen.  I added a narrow strip of silver glitter tape and stamped the sentiment (Friends and Flowers set) in Broken China ink.  I just love these colours.

I hope you pop on by the main blog and see what wonderful projects the other DT ladies have created.  Don't forget to comment there for your chance to win a prize!

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Can you believe it?  STAMPlorations is celebrating its 3rd birthday!!  I'm so happy to be a part of this big day!  We've got a fun birthday blog hop starting today until Tuesday (July 5th).  We are introducing a super sweet new stamp set design by STAMPlorations girl, Deepti.  It's called Kathryn's Big Wishes. There are lots of prizes to be won and a fun Linky so you can join in too!

This hop is also for introducing a brand new product for STAMPlorations. CUTplorations thin metal dies!!  How exciting!  Us STAMP girls have some fantastic projects to share with you over the next week and I hope you'll go check them all out!  So, here's what I came up with for today....

I just love this adorable, fun set Deepti created.  So many possibilities!  For this card, I stamped my girl in black Memento ink. Using the same ink, I stamped my balloons (the big balloon is from Kathryn's Big Wishes set and the smaller balloons are from Balloons and Banners set) masking where I needed too. I coloured in the girl and balloons using my Spectrum Noir markers. I stamped, coloured and fussy cut a couple of balloons out and raised them up with foam dots.  I added the balloon strings by hand with a black marker.  I added some Wink of Stella to the purple balloons. I stamped the big sentiment (Hope Blooms set) and smaller sentiment (Kathryn's Big Wishes) in black Versamark ink.

So, come over over to the STAMPlorations blog and join in on the fun!  Here's all the details:

All prizes will be randomly drawn using Random.org

STAMPlorations Inspiration #82

Hey everyone!  It's Tuesday and that means it time for a new Inspiration post over at STAMPlorations!  Today I've got that probably would have been easier to make if I had a Misti. But, I do not so I did it all by eye.  It turned out pretty good I think. I did mess it up once and had to start over but that was my colouring not the stamping. :-).  Anyway, take a look....

So, once I finished stamping all the hellos (Big Greetings set) in black Versamark I masked off the bottom one and sponged a bit of Teal Zeal Memento ink on the bottom.  I removed the mask and coloured in the bottom hello with my Spectrum Noir markers. I used DR3 and then the blender to fade it out.  I also added some faux texture by dotting over the red with the blender pen.  I added a strip of washi tape (Recollections) and then stamp the rest of the sentiment (Big Greetings set).

Don't forget to go see all the other wonderful projects by the rest of the DT over at the main blog.  Leave a comment there for a chance to win a prize too!

Thanks for visiting and have a great day!

A Long Time Ago.....

....in an eight years old's bedroom.  A mural was born.  LOL.  Hi everyone!  I thought that I'd share something a bit different today.  About a month ago I started on the journey of painting a Star Wars mural in my son's bedroom.  I've been meaning to do it for ages and finally took the plunge.  It took me a lot longer than I anticipated.  He wanted the Death Star in space with tie fighters and X-wings.  The Death Star took me forever!!  It turned out pretty good though.  I took progressive pictures so you could see step by step what I was doing.  One tip I will share if you ever want to paint a mural yourself.  Use chalk to draw your images.  It disappears as you paint over it and whatever is left wipes off easily with a damp cloth.  Okay that's enough chit chat!  On to the pictures!  Here we go.....

Well, that's it. My son loves it and I think it turned out pretty cool.  Hope you enjoyed your visit today!  Have a good one!

STAMPlorations Inspiration #81

Hi there!  It's inspiration day over at STAMPlorations!  Today's card is a simple design but a fun one. It was a perfect card for my son's school friend's birthday.  Take a look....

I die cut my medallion shape and used the negative as a stencil. I sponged on navy, teal, and a bit of pink.  Then I splattered with water and then white acrylic paint.  Looks like a starry sky, doesn't it?  Then I stamped some stars (Balloons and Banners set) in Silver Delicata ink.  I added a bit of Wink of Stella to the stars for a bit of extra shimmer.  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment (Party Time set) in black.

If you want to check out the other awesome projects by the DT pop over to the main blog.  Leave a comment there for a chance to win a prize too!

Have a fabulous day and thanks for stopping by!

Father's Day Airplane

Hey everyone!  This is going to be a quick post so I can enter my card into a few challenges before they end.  Once again I'm cutting it close!  I made this card for my Dad as he likes planes (he was in the Air Force in the military. Although he wasn't a pilot).  Check it out.....

My Mom sent me this flat metal decoration thing she had found thinking I could use it for something and I figured I could use it like a stencil mask.  It worked pretty good. I sponged Pool to Navy ombré ink (Hero Arts) overtop and splattered some water and white acrylic paint.  Then I  just simply stamped the sentiment (Stampin' Up!) in black.  I really like how this turned out and it was super easy to make too.

Well, I hope you all had a good weekend. Ours was quiet and we had some great weather.  Thanks for visiting and have an awesome day!

I'm linking up to the following challenges:

Inkspirational Challenge - Designer's Choice

Happy Weekend everyone!  Here in Jemseg it's going to be a beautiful weekend weather wise.  After a long time of grey skies and rain it's a welcome change.  We'll be able to get outside and do some much needed yard work plus some play time as well.  :-)

Anyway, it's time again for a new challenge over at Inkspirational!  This time it's designer's choice and it's my turn!  So, I thought for this challenge I'd choose a technique that is near and dear to my heart..  LOL.  Masking!

I love masking.  I'm sure you've seen me use this technique frequently.  Today's card is a simple way to use masking but I just love the results!  Check it out....

On my grey card base, I stamped my computer key sentiment (CAS-ual Fridays) in black and then made a mask and covered it up.  Then I stamped a variety of grungy/distress stamps (STAMPlorations) in silver, grey and green.  I splattered some black ink and then removed the mask.  I added a couple of black, narrow sticker strips to the top and bottom.  This card was made for my Dad whose birthday is next week.  He's a computer geek so I'm sure he'll like it.  :-)

Well, I do hope you'll enjoy this challenge and I look forward to seeing your awesome projects linked up!  Please, pop over to the main blog and check out the wonderful guest designer's card as well as the rest of the DT's projects.  So much awesomeness!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Hey everyone!  The first day of summer is almost here!  That means sun, warmth, beach trips, ice cream, vacations and more!  And what better way to start things off than the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  So, it's time to grab your coffee themes supplies and make some awesome coffee themed projects!

Now, STAMPlorations is a sponsor again this hop and our awesome leader, Shery, asked some of us to join in on the fun.  I'm always up for some card making fun!  So without further adieu, here's my card.....

First, I stamped my coffee cup (Sketchy Coffee Cups set) then I made a mask and covered it up.  I stamped my grunge stamp (Mixed Media Elements set) using Cantaloupe Memento ink.  Then I splattered some black ink.  I removed the mask and coloured in my coffee cup with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Lastly, I stamped my sentiment (Bunnies 'n Beans set) with black Versamark ink.  I love the summery colours of this card.  In fact, my colours were inspired by the surf boards on their Summer graphic!  :-)

So, I hope you'll hop on over to STAMPlorations and see the other great projects.  And maybe you'll be inspired to make a card of your own and link up over at the Coffee Lovers Cardmakers Blog!  Hope to see you there!  Have a fabulous day!

Of course, I'm linking up to the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

Butterfly Trio

Good morning!  The rain has finally gone away and the sunshine is out!  It's been pretty dreary here and I've been longing for some warmth and sun.  Looks like it's going to be a fabulous weekend too.  :-)

So, today I've got a card that I made for a few challenges.  I've been loving the grungy/distress stamps lately and have been using them for my backgrounds.  Check it out....

I love this grungy stamp.  I used it on another card this way that you'll get to see tomorrow.  So I stamped my grungy stamp (STAMPlorations) using New Sprout Memento dye based ink several times.  Then I splattered Peacock Feathers Distress ink.  I stamped the butterflies and sentiment (STAMPlorations) in Versamark pigment ink.  Versamark is great as it goes on nice and solid but is a fast drying pigment.  I'm loving the colours of this card and the contrast between the softer colours and the black.

Well, I hope you are having some lovely weather where you are too.  Have a great day and thanks for visiting!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

STAMPlorations Inspiration #80

Hey everyone!  Time for another inspiration post over at STAMPlorations!  I decided to play with one of the newer sets for my card today.  I love the new Trendy Feathers 2 set. Those feathers are so awesome.  Here's my card....

I stamped my feathers using a mask and coloured them in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I covered both feathers with a mask and splattered black ink.  I removed the mask and stamped the sentiment (from same set) in black.  Lastly, I added a strip of black cardstock that I cut with a scallop pattern to the bottom of the card.

I hope I've been able to inspire you to create today.  If you need more inspiration go check out the awesome projects by the rest of the DT.  And don't forget to comment on the main blog for a chance to win a prize too!

Have an amazing day and thanks for stopping by!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

Warm Winter Wishes

Hey!  It's time for another card!  Today I've got a Christmas themed card for you.  I love non-traditional colours for Christmas cards.  It's fun to try and make the colours work.  Anyway, here's my card....

It's rather fun with those colours, don't you think?  I stamped my houses (Neat and Tangled) in the following colours:  Broken China and Victorian Velvet Distress ink, Hero Arts Pool and Butter and the purple is by Recollections. The trees (Neat and Tangled) are stamped in New Sprout and Pear Tart Memento ink.  I added a narrow strip of green glitter tape underneath and stamped my sentiment (Neat and Tangled) in black.  I then took my falling snow stencil (Simon Says Stamp) and filled it in with embossing paste.  A nice CAS Christmas card. :-)

I'm so glad you took some time out of your day to come visit me.  Hope the rest of your day is awesome!

Lettuce Celebrate

Hi there!  Today I've got a fun card to share.  I love the Calorie Wise set from Paper Smooches.  I find it very amusing.  One of the stamps is a head of lettuce and has a really cute sentiment to match.  Here's what I made with it....

I stamped my lettuce several times, masking where I needed to.  Then, I coloured them in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  You'd be surprise all the colours lettuce comes in.  :-)  I stamped the sentiment in black.  It's a pretty simple card but I love how it turned out and the sentiment makes me giggle every time!

Well, that's all for today.  I have another card to share but I'll save that one for tomorrow.  Enjoy your day and thanks for stopping by!

Purple Love

Hey everyone!  Just popping in to share a card with you.  I was hoping to link up to some challenges before they close.  Once again I'm cutting it close with the cut off times.  Anyway, it's been a creative day today.  I worked on my son's Star Wars mural, which is coming along nicely.  I got in some card making too.  Anyway, here's my card....

I stamped my flourishes (Paper Smooches: Curls and Swirls set) with versamark ink and embossed them in white.  Then I did a wash of Dusty Concord and Seedless Preserves Distress ink.  I took the same ink colours and inked up my flourishes again and stamped over top.  I wiped off the excess ink keeping the white embossing bright.  I cut my panel on an angle as well as two colours of purple cardstock and attached them to my white card base.  I stamped the sentiment (Paper Smooches: a portion of a sentiment from Calorie Wise set) in black several times.  Using a metallic purple gel pen I coloured in one of the hearts.

Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Have a good night and thanks for dropping by!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

STAMPlorations Inspiration #79

Hi!  Tuesday has rolled around again and it time for another Inspiration post over at STAMPlorations!  Crazy how the week flies by.  We've got some more great projects to share with you over on the blog today.  Take a look at mine....

I stamped my leaves (Trendy Leaves set) using my yellow/green ombré ink pad (Recollections).  I stamped it several times in the corner of my white card base.  I stamped the sentiment, (Happy from Sentiment Builders: Happy set and birthday from Party Time set) in black over top my leaves.  Lastly, I added a few score lines down one side of the card.  I love the simplicity of this card!

Well, I hope you go on over to the main blog and check out the other fab DT projects.  Don't forget to comment there for a chance to win a prize too!

Have an amazing day and thanks for visiting!

Little Red Bird

Hey everyone!  This is my second post for today.  I wanted to get this posted as I wanted to link up my card with some challenges before they close.  I've got a Christmas card to share this time.  This card was mainly inspired by the amazing card by Kimberly Weiner over at Muse: Christmas Visions.  Just take a look at her gorgeous card below....

I love that cardinal!  I was so in love with this card that I just had to CASE it.  Now, I don't have a cardinal stamp but I did have a fabulous small bird on a berry branch stamp by Stampendous that would fit the the bill almost perfectly.  This is what I came up with.....

I altered the bird slightly and added the tell-tale cardinal crest.  This is what it looked like before I altered it....

Rather than using a white card base, I decided to go with a kraft card base.  I stamped my bird on branch with black Memento ink and coloured it in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I added the white with a gel pen.  I added a strip of red/white striped washi tape (Recollections) and a trimmed piece of silver glitter tape (Darice).  Lastly, I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted) in black.  I just love how this turned out!  Thanks for the inspiration Kimberly Wiener!

Well, thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a fabulous day!

STAMPlorations CASEplorations June

Hey everyone!  Guess what?!  It's time for a new CASEplorations over at STAMPlorations!  You were probably wondering when June 1st rolled by where was the new challenge?  Well, from now on it'll be starting on the 5th of each month.  Well, we've got a lovely card to CASE this month by wonderful card artist, Shelly Kurth.  Just check out her totally gorgeous card below....

Amazing isn't it!  So soft and pretty.  I enjoyed CASEing her card quite a bit. Take a look at what I came up with....

So, instead of a white card base I went with grey.  I also went with an oval instead of a circle.  First, I die cut my oval (Darice) from watercolour paper and then stamped the calla lilies and small flowers (Smile set) in grey StazOn ink.  I watercoloured them with my Spectrum Aqua markers and a water brush pen.  I stamped the sentiment (Friends and Flowers set) in the grey StazOn as well.  I attached this to my card base and then added a strip of gold glitter tape.

So, I hope you'll all pop on by the main blog and check out all the fabulous cards by the DT and remember there prizes to be won too!

Have a fantastic day and thanks for dropping by!

Inkspirational Challenge - Word Prompt - Text

Hey everyone!  It's the weekend!  Yay!  It's also time for another challenge over at Inkspirational.  We've got a word prompt challenge for you this time. It's "Text".

All kinds of possibilities with this one.  There was something I wanted to try out so this is what I came up with....

I stamped my flowers and leaves (STAMPlorations) masking where I needed it on a piece of text patterned paper.  Then I coloured in my flowers and leaves with my prismacolor pencil crayons.  The colours aren't quite as bright but it's a cool look, I think.  I like the way the text shows through the colouring too.  I stamped the sentiment (STAMPlorations) and embossed it in white.  Lastly, I attached it to my white card base.

Well, I hope you pop on over to the main blog and check out what the rest of the DT and our Guest Designer made.  Thanks for visiting and have an awesome day!

I'd like to link up with the following challenges:
