Inkspirational Challenge - Designer's Choice - Cute Halloween

Hello!  Its a lovely Saturday to start a new challenge, don't you think?  Well, over at Inkspirational we are starting a fun one!  It was designer's choice this time and our wonderful and sweet teammate, Carol, got to pick.  Its "Cute Halloween (or pumpkin/owl for those who don't celebrate Halloween)"!

Now, I love Halloween and I've got some great stamps but I realized quickly that they aren't really all that cute.  Spooky and scary mostly.  The Grim Reaper isn't cute, is he?  LOL.  Luckily, I recently won a prize from Di's Digi Stamps and her images are certainly cute.  So, I made sure to pick a Halloween one.  Check it out...

Aren't those witchy mice adorable?  And that ghost?  Love this image!  So, I printed off my digi stamp and coloured it with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I added some Wink of Stella to the potion in the cauldron.  I trimmed my image panel and matted it with orange.  I attached my panel to my card base and stamped the sentiment (Michaels) in flannel grey Memento ink.

I do hope you'll join us in all the cute Halloween fun!  You definitely need to check out the other DT members projects too.  They are awesome as usual!  Plus, we have an amazing Guest Designer too. It's non other than, Becca Cruger of Damsel of Distressed Cards!  She's awesome and you really need to go check her out.  :-)

Well, I hope you've enjoyed your visit!  Have a fantastic weekend!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

Addicted to CAS - code word is Spooky
Addicted to Stamps and More - make your mark

Day 3 of STAMPlorations Stamp Release Blog Hop

Day 3

Hey everyone!  It's time for another stamp release blog hop over at STAMPlorations!  For the next three days we are showcasing a new stamp set.  Today's set is designed by our talented and wonderful teammate, Shirley.  Take a look at this fun set...
Spotlight on FOLK FLOWERS

Isn't this a fun set?!  When I was sitting and admiring it, thinking about what to do, I was suddenly struck with an idea.  I looked at the flower stems and thought, "I could make something different with those!".  Check it out...

Snowflakes!  Yep, this is what I envisioned although it was a little bit more fiddly than I expected.  I took my circle swirl stamp (Party Mates set, Dee's Arsty Impressions) and stamped in clear Versamark ink.  I stamped the stems around the circle swirl in Versamark as well.  Then I took a couple of the small flower center stamps and stamped them randomly around.  Then I embossed everything in white.  I took the following Memento inks and sponged them on the card: Nautical Navy, Teal Zeal, Bamboo Leaves, and Elderberry.  I spritzed my card with water to create some interesting water marks in the ink.  I die cut my sentiment using my Slice machine out of white cardstock and added some Wink of Stella and attached it to my card.

Check out what the rest of the team made! You'll find links to all our projects here.
Don't forget to comment along the way!  There are prizes to be won if you do!

DaY 2 of STAMPlorations Stamp Release Blog Hop

Day 2

Hey everyone!  It's time for another stamp release blog hop over at STAMPlorations!  For the next three days we are showcasing a new stamp set.  Today's set is designed by our amazingly talented and  just all around fantastic team leader, Shery!  Take a look at this awesome set...

Spotlight on HOPE BLOOMS

Aren't these just amazing?  Shery is so talented!  As soon as I saw that gorgeous butterfly stamp I knew I had to use it.  Take a look....

First, I stamped the butterflies in black Memento ink on light gray cardstock.  Then I stamped the sentiment in black too.  Next, I coloured in the butterflies with my Spectrum Noir markers (the bodies were done in grey IG4, IG6, IG8. The wings were done in CT4, OR1, TB2, TB3, TB6, CG2, DG3).  I painstakingly coloured in the black with a fine tip Faber-Castel PITT pen.  Lastly, I added the white dots with a white gel pen.

Day 1 of STAMPlorations Stamp Release Blog Hop

Day 1

Hey everyone!  It's time for another stamp release blog hop over at STAMPlorations!  For the next three days we are showcasing a new stamp set.  Today's set is designed by our talented and lovely teammate, Deepti.  Take a look at this fabulous set...

I decided that I needed to use all three of those pretty stamps so I made a trio of small thanks you cards.  They are about 3" X 4 1/4".  Check them out....

I stamped all three images in flannel grey Memento ink.  I stamped the sentiment (Frames and Flowers set, Dee's Artsy Impressions line) in the same grey.  I coloured my images with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I created masks for all three images and covered them up so I could splatter some watered down antique linen Distress ink.  Aren't they lovely little images?
Thanks for dropping by today.  I hope you enjoyed your visit.

Yellow Lotus

Hey everyone!  It seems that I may not be making too many cards for the next week or two.  We recently gutted our kitchen and the electrician was in the other day and needed access to the attic and a wall right where my craft desk is.  I moved what I could but they ended up moving more stuff and now it's like a tornado went through!  I needed to reorganize, clean and purge but I've got so much on my plate with the renovations this wasn't high on my list.  Every time I see my craft area it seems a bit overwhelming.  :-(  It'll all get sorted out eventually.

Anyway, I have a card to share that I finished before the chaos happened.  Take a look...

I stamped my lotus flowers (Waffle Flower) and embossed them in gold.  I coloured them in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Then I created a mask for them and covered them up.  I lightly sponged broken china Distress ink as well as splattered it.  I lightly stamped and water spritzed my script stamp (STAMPlorations) with antique linen Distress ink.  Using both broken china and antique linen ink I stamped my dragonflies (Waffle Flower) by stamping off some ink first.  Next, I sprayed on some golden glitz Perfect Pearls mist.  It's really very shimmery and sparkly but, as usual, it's hard to get a good photo of it. I used my Tim Holtz distressing tool and roughed up the one edge of my panel. Then I took watered down broken china ink and saturated the roughed up edge.  I stamped the sentiment (Waffle Flower) in flannel grey Memento ink.  Lastly, I attached my panel to a white card base.

Well, I hope you enjoyed your visit.  Have a fabulous day!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

CAS-ual Chic - tic tac toe challenge.  I used distressing, sparkling, and embossing.

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #19 Reminder

Just a reminder that there's still about a week left to link up your cards to One Layer Christmas Card Challenges current challenge.  As always it's anything goes but you have the option to use the twist.  The twist this time is Silver.  If you do use the twist you'll be entered in for the drawing to win an ARTplorations stencil!  Here's my card to inspire you...

I stamped my branches and birds (Penny Black) and embossed in a silver embossing powder on a black card base.  This powder has glitter in it too so it's nice and sparkly.  I embossed the sentiment (Michaels) in the same powder.  I wanted the birds to stand out more so I coloured them with my red Spectrum Noir marker.  It's a quick card but very striking I think as well as untraditional in the colour scheme.

Anyway, I hope you'll take a moment to join us over at OLCCC.  We would love to see you there!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

STAMPlorations Inspiration Post #42

Happy Monday everyone!  Can Monday's be happy?  They can when the STAMPlorations Inspiration team is serving up a bunch of great cards to share with you!  We hope that our cards will help get your creative juices flowing and you'll join us.  You can CASE one of our cards from today's post or from post #41. Or you can check out the CASEplorations post and CASE Greta's fabulous card.  And there's always a chance to win a prize if you do play along!  Here's what I came up with...

(All stamps by STAMPlorations)

I actually used some patterned paper!  I never seem to use it anymore so I thought I probably should. I cut my strip of splatter patterned paper (Bo Bunny) and gauged where I needed to stamp my pine boughs (Christmas Bell Medley set, Dee's Artsy Impressions line) on a pale blue cardstock base.  I stamped them in metallic silver (Color Box) ink then attached my paper strip.  I added a trimmed strip of teal glitter tape (Recollections) inbetween my patterned paper and pine boughs.  I stamped the sentiment (Christmas Bell Medley set, Dee's Artsy Impressions line) in Teal Zeal Memento ink.  I'm loving the non-traditional colours of this card.  :-)

Well, I sure hope you'll be able to play along with us.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a lovely Monday!

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - CAS Christmas
MUSE: Christmas Visions - Kimberly Wiener created this awesome card.  I was inspired by all the blue and the silver sequins.

Inkspirational Challenge - Prompt Word - Glow

Hey there!  It's time for another challenge over at Inkspirational!  This time we have a prompt word for you.  The word is 'Glow'.

Now, at first I wasn't sure what to do.  I was trying to think of stamps I had that I could use when suddenly my eyes lit upon the bottle of glow in the dark paint I had bought for a different project. Eureka!  Heck yeah, that glows!  Then it just all came together.  Take a look...

First I stamped my flying saucer (Inkadinkado) in black.  I made a mask and covered it up.  I masked off the bottom section of my card and sponged on Nautical Navy, Teal Zeal Memento inks and a bit of Picked Raspberyy Distress ink.  Then I splattered the glow in the dark paint as well as some white acrylic paint for stars. I uncovered my flying saucer and coloured it with my Spectrum Noir markers. Then I took some of the glow in the dark paint and painted over the dome of the flying saucer. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment (STAMPlorations) in black.  I wish so much that I could show you how cool this card looks in the dark but none of the pictures I took turned out.  :-(  So, you're just going to have to trust me.  It's cool.  :-)

Anyway, I hope you take a look at the other projects the Ink girls have made as well as our awesome guest designer, Hannelie, of Desert Diva.  Maybe you'll join in the fun, and make a card too.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a fabulous day!

STAMPlorations Inspiration Post #41

Hello!  It's time again for an Inspiration post over at STAMPlorations!  As always we encourage you to join in and CASE one of our cards from today's post or CASE Greta's card from the CASEplorations post.  If you do play along you could win a prize too!  Here's what I made...

I stamped my flowers (Blooming Buds set, Dee's Artsy Impressions line) in Memento grey flannel ink, masking where I needed to.  I masked areas and stamped with a variety of distress type stamps (Mixed Media Elements set) in the two corners of the card also in grey flannel ink but stamping off first to create a lighter effect.  I stamped the sentiment (Fond Expressions 2 set) in full strength grey flannel ink.  Then I coloured in my flowers with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I also outlined and faded it around my flowers in grey as well.  Love how this turned out.  The mixed media stamps are awesome!

I do hope you'll all join in on the fun and CASE a card!  You should definitely check out what the rest of the team made too!

Have an awesome day and thanks for stopping by!

Guest Designing at Craft Stamper

Hey everyone!  Today I am guest designing over at the Craft Stamper Magazine blog.  We are sharing some inspiration for the October Make It, Take It challenge.  The magazine got a new look recently and the title has a grouping of words that the challenge is based on.  Ink, Stitch, Paint, Collage, Print, Paper.  As long as you use one of these things on the list (and stamping of course) you can play along!  Here's my card...

I first masked off and circular area and sponged on spiced marmalade and picked raspberry Distress inks.  Then I stamped my leaves (Clearly Besotted) by inking them up (used spiced marmalade, mowed lawn Distress ink and lady bug (red) Memento ink) and spritzing them with water so the colours would blend.  I then masked off a border and sponged on forest moss Distress ink.  I stamped the sentiment (Clearly Besotted) in black and then added some faux stitching with a black fine tip marker.

Hope you can play along in the challenge this month.  So many possibilities!  Thanks for visiting and hope you have a wonderful Friday!

I'm linking up to the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog - Autumn is in the air
TIME OUT Challenge - inspired by words:  'Autumn...the year's last, loveliest smile'
Fusion Card Challenge - Falling Leaves Bouquet - I used just the photo.

One Layer Christmas Card Challenge #19

Isn't it a lovely day to work on some Christmas cards?  Well, maybe if you're in the Christmas spirit you can make one and join us over at One Layer Christmas Card Challenges!  It's time for another fun challenge and as always its an anything goes theme with an optional twist.  This time the twist is "Silver".

There really are so many possibilities for this twist.  I decided to use a NBUS stamp I've had for a while.  Take a look....

I stamped my Eiffel Tower stamp on light grey card base and embossed it in silver.  Then I coloured in the holly and poinsettias with my Spectrum Noir markers.  I added a strip of silver glitter tape leaving a narrow strip at the bottom.  I coloured this strip in red with my SN marker.  I really like this stamp!  Not sure why I haven't used it sooner.

I do hope you'll be able to join us and I hope you enjoy all the other DT projects as well.

Thanks for stopping by and have an awesome day!

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:

Hey everyone!  I'm back with one more card for The Hop to Stop.  Becca from the Damsel of Distressed blog has organized this awesome event to raise awareness about domestic violence.  If you want to join in check out all the details at her blog.  There are some fantastic prizes from some very generous sponsors.  And if you want to give your cards to someone who could use them, Becca is collecting them for her local shelter.  :-)

So, here's my card...

I masked off a section of my card and sponged on dusty concord Distress ink making an ombré look. Then I stamped my foliage and branches (CAS-ual Fridays) in dove gray StazOn ink, dusty concord Distress ink, and black Memento ink.  Lastly, I splattered some watered down white acrylic paint.  I removed the mask and added a trimmed strip if silver glitter tape. Then I Stamped the sentiment (STAMPlorations) in black.

Hey everyone!  I'm back again with another card for The Hop to Stop.  Becca from the Damsel of Distressed blog has organized this awesome event to raise awareness about domestic violence.  If you want to join in check out all the details at her blog.  There are some fantastic prizes from some very generous sponsors.  Take a look...

Wow, eh?!  Anyway, here's my card...

I masked off my bottom section and sponged on some elderberry Memento ink. Then I stamped my flourish (Stampendous) in grey flannel Memento ink.  I removed the mask and created a smaller narrow one and sponged on the grey flannel ink.  Once the mask was removed I stamped my sentiment (CAS-ual Fridays) in the grey flannel.  Clean and simple, just how I like it.  :-)

The Hop to Stop

Hey everyone!  (If you are looking for my CASEplorations post just keep scrolling down.)  It's a special and important day today.  I'm participating in a special blog hop for a very good cause.  My fellow STAMPlorations teammate, Becca, has organized The Hop to Stop.  It's about raising awareness about domestic violence.

We are all making cards and linking up showing our support.  You can too!  All you have to do is make a card featuring purple and link up over at Becca's blog, The Damsel of Distressed.  She's has loads of great sponsors giving away some great prizes.  What is even better, if you want your cards to go to someone who could really use them, Becca is collecting them for her local shelter.  All the info is on her blog.   Here's the card I made...

I first took my sentiment (STAMPlorations) and embossed it in white.  Then I watercoloured some Distress inks (spiced marmalade, dusty concord and broken china) randomly over most of the card surface.  I stamped the larger butterflies (STAMPlorations) in the dusty concord while the background was still damp so they would bleed a bit.  Once it was dry I stamped the small butterfly (STAMPlorations, Dee's Artsy Impressions) in golden glitz ink (Delicata).  They are a bit hard to see in the photo but they look very pretty IRL.  Lastly, I stamped my flourish (Inkadinkado) in dove gray (StazOn) ink.

I hope you'll join in and support this worthy cause too.  Thanks for visiting and I hope you have a lovely day!

CASEplorations October

Greetings everyone!  Today is the day to start a new CASEplorations!

I used the following STAMPloration stamps sets:

I hope you'll come over to the CASEplorations Playground and join us in CASEing Greta's card.  Or if you'd like you could CASE my card or any of the DT girls cards. It's totally up to you.  If you do link up you could win a prize!  Hope to see you there!

Have an amazing day and thanks for stopping by!
