Day 2
Hey everyone! It's time for another stamp release blog hop over at STAMPlorations! For the next three days we are showcasing a new stamp set. Today's set is designed by our amazingly talented and just all around fantastic team leader, Shery! Take a look at this awesome set...
Spotlight on HOPE BLOOMS
Aren't these just amazing? Shery is so talented! As soon as I saw that gorgeous butterfly stamp I knew I had to use it. Take a look....
First, I stamped the butterflies in black Memento ink on light gray cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment in black too. Next, I coloured in the butterflies with my Spectrum Noir markers (the bodies were done in grey IG4, IG6, IG8. The wings were done in CT4, OR1, TB2, TB3, TB6, CG2, DG3). I painstakingly coloured in the black with a fine tip Faber-Castel PITT pen. Lastly, I added the white dots with a white gel pen.

I'd like to link up to the following challenges:
Spectrum Noir Monthly Challenge (for October) - use orange and grey.
Addicted to Stamps and More - make your mark.
Your effort with a black and white pen was totally worth it! So bold and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI don't own any of the Spectrum Noir markers, but I recently discovered Tim Holtz Water Brush which is an amazing tool, but one could not get quite the great shading you do with the water brush.
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing your beautiful creation

ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Kim! Love the colouring.
ReplyDeleteWow!! This is stunning!! Love the coloring of the butterflies!! Thanks for playing along with us at Addicted to Stamps and More!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an apparently simple card and yet so much effort has gone into making the details perfect. The added depth from the (I'm sure very time-consuming) black against the white details on the butterfly wings really take this card from beautiful to truly stunning.
ReplyDeleteWOW the sheer beauty of the way you showcased the butterflies is super gorgeous
ReplyDeleteand Thank you for a chance to win
