Hey everyone! Long time, no post! I haven't been around much the past couple of weeks. First I had a bad head cold and it seemed that I was recovering only to develope strep throat a week later! It was pretty bad too. Thank goodness I got into my doctor right away and got some antibiotics. Still took a good three days before I felt human again and could swallow without wanting to cry. Not much fun. But I'm all good now! :-). And just in time for a new challenge over at Inkspirational! It is designer's choice this time and our wonderful and talented teammate, Pia, chose "Geometric".
I love the look of geometric cards but don't make them very often. Don't know why, really. What I really like is a geometric background with a more organic shape on top. Here's what I came up with...
I took my stencil (The Crafters Workshop, Mini Entrelac) and sponged on the following Distress inks: Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers, and Mowed Lawn. Then I splattered some water overtop to make it bleed a bit. Once that was dry I stamped my dragonflies (STAMPlorations) and embossed them in white. I coloured them in using my Spectrum Aqua markers (Teal, Navy, Bud Green, and Yellow). I used my Faber-Castell PITT fine tip black marker for the bodies. I stamped the sentiment (STAMPlorations) in black Versafine ink and then added some sequins (Neat and Tangled). I really love the dragonflies over top of the geometric pattern.
I hope you'll come over to the main blog and see what everyone else made this week. Amazing creations, for sure!
Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you have a lovely weekend!
