Inkspirational Challege - Photo Inspiration

Good Morning everyone!  Well, after a day of freezing rain/rain yesterday, it's a lovely sunny day today.  Hoping that it melts some more of the snow we still have around.  I hope you are all have a lovely Easter weekend.  My son is excited about the Easter Bunny visiting tomorrow.  My husband, not so much.  This year his birthday falls on Easter Sunday.  He's feeling a little ripped off.  LOL.  But I will make him brunch and dinner and cake and there will be presents just for him.  :-)  Anyway, we have a great challenge starting today over at Inkspirational!  It's a photo inspiration challenge this time and I just love the picture that was chosen.  Check it out....

Cool, right?!  I decided to use the colours and the weather theme for my card.  Take a look....

This is going to be my husbands birthday card.  Cause, he is the sunshine on a cloudy day.  :-)  This is how I made it....I die cut several clouds (Paper Smooches, Cute Clouds) from white and grey papers.  Once I had figured out the layout I stamped my sun (Paper Smooches, Eco Friendly set) and coloured it in with my Spectrum Noir markers.  Then I glued my clouds down.  I stamped my sentiment (STAMPlorations, Fond Expressions 2 set) in black.  I love how this turned out.  Inside I stamped Happy Birthday.

I hope you'll pop on by the blog and check out the other awesome projects by the DT.  We'd love for you to play along with us!

Have a fantastic weekend and thanks for stopping by!

  4. Fantastic card! The layered clouds look great against the bright sun. And that sentiment could not be more perfect for this card!
Also, I notice that I have missed your birthday! Regardless, I hope it was a grand! It seems you and your husband have very close birthdays. Hopefully you were able to do something fun to celebrate!

  7. First, belated Happy Birthday to that charming husband of yours! Hope he enjoyed all the spoiling and pampering you had planned for him: brunch, a special dinner, cake and Easter bunny chocolates sound like quite the delights! As for your card: I'm completely smitten with your little 'weather' scene; cute clouds and that pop-of-yellow sun really is the star of the show! I know your husband adored it, as do I! We're in rainy Kelowna right now, planning to head back this morning...to a 'snowfall warning in effect' forecast! EEK!
