Inkspirational Challenge - Inkspiration Picture

Greetings!  It's time for another challenge over at Inkspirational!  This time it's a photo inspiration challenge.  Be prepared cause it's a cute one!

Aren't they adorable.  I almost wish I could crochet.  :-). I decided to draw on the owl image for my card.  I think I have only one owl stamp in my horde which is kind of sad really.  It's kind of a cute one though.  Take a look...

This stamp was a gift and I'm pretty sure it came from Michaels.  It had a sentiment that was part of the image as well (You're a Hoot!) but I didn't want that so I masked it out.  I stamped my owl in 4 bright colours on my white cardstock strip first.  This was rather difficult to line up as I did it by eye since I don't have a stamp-a-ma-jig thingy and the stamp is kind of crooked on the wood block.  Let's just say it took a few tries.  :-). I matted it on my striped paper (Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection by American Crafts) and adhered it to my card base.  I added some sequins (Neat and Tangled) and made my sentiment with some letter stickers from my stash.  Don't know who makes them.

I hope you will all come over to Inkspirational and try out the challenge!  At least take a look at the fabulous design teams projects including our wonderful Guest Designer, Maura.

I'm going to link up to the following challenges:

Time Out Challenge - be inspired by the words, "birds of a feather flock together".
Moxie Fab World, World Card Making Day Inspiration challenge - use this picture for inspiration.  I used the bright colours.

I would also like to take a moment to welcome another new follower.  Welcome Anita from Just a Pigment of my Imagination!  Isn't that a cool blog name?  Love it.  Please go on over and check out her lovely work.  :-)

Well, that's all for now.  Have a lovely day and thanks for visiting!

  2. Sweet card, Kim...love the 'owl' family, dressed in their colourful finery, standing on their pretty perch of patterned paper (whoa..alliteration!). I think your owls are lined up perfectly (I have a stamp-a-ma jiggy thing...doesn't help me with keeping things straight. I suspect it's the operator *grin*). Fabulous inspiration with this gem of a card!

  3. Such a fun card! Love the colors for your owls and the border of striped pp. I always like the look of a striped border. Great job on getting them lined up straight - that can be so challenging. Glad to be "guest designing' with you this challenge.

  11. Kim, this looks awesome! Love the fresh colours you have chosen now that Autumn is knocking on the door.
Ps. Pepsi finds it awesome to have a doggy pen pal abroad. She hopes Summer's Mum doesn't give Summer pedicures 'cause Pepsi hates having her pedicures done by her Mum. If so Pepsi advices Summer to go hide behind her Dad. ;o)
